Native Voices: Unveiling the Myths Behind the Headdress,
Moccasins and Tipi

Stereotypes and false representations of the Native American community continue to hinderattitudes of respect and inclusion of all people. The Diversity Awareness Partnership and the St. Louis Public Library would like to dispel the harmful myths and the misinformation that has been circulated for decades around the Native American community. This community awareness forum is designed to address current issues and stereotypes faced by Native Americans in the United States. The panelists for the forum will include scholars from the Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies.

Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Forum
Thursday, April 23, 2009—6:30pm - Wachovia

"Speak Out” will build awareness and identify the importance of allies to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community in St. Louis. Panelists will share their stories and resources to help educate the community about issues around sexual orientation and gender identity. This is a great professional development opportunity!

The DAP Give Respect, Get Respect Program Partners with the
St. Louis Holocaust Museum

24 schools, 48 students, and associates from Edward Jones will visit the Holocaust Museum in March for the Give Respect, Get Respect Program. Participants will be taken on a guided tour of the museum, spend time with a Holocaust survivor, and have the opportunity to process and reflect on the severe consequences of hate and discrimination.
